Position Title:  Part-time Seasonal Outreach and Events Coordinator
Reports To: Executive Director

The Outreach and Events Coordinator is an ambassador for biking and Bikes Together that works with our team of staff and volunteers to deliver off-site programming and events in a way that is as accessible as possible for people of all skill levels and backgrounds. You must believe bicycles are magic. More specifically, you must be willing and able to speak to the power of bicycling to improve wellness, environmental quality, opportunity, and community connection. The Seasonal Outreach and Events Coordinator will work flexible hours, primarily on evenings and weekends from March through October. Weekly hours will be variable, but the goal is to average 20 hours a week.

Compensation ranges from $11-$15/hour depending on experience.

Essential Functions


  • Act as main point of contact for off-site programming
  • With senior staff, assess requests for off-site programming
  • With senior staff, identify opportunities for off-site programming
  • Manage the flow of people through mobile programs
  • Facilitate Earn A Bike, Bike Rodeo, and Fix Your Bike programs and deliver classes
  • Keep mobile programs inventory organized and account for all inventory through tracking system
  • Coordinates and Delivers off-site programs
  • Off-site program participant customer service/ scheduling
  • Data entry for program participant tracking
  • Attend outreach events to promote Bikes Together
  • With other staff, identify issues in current program processes and propose changes
  • Implement new systems for off-site program processes; communicate new systems to volunteers and staff
  • Ensure that all participants complete all paperwork and requirements of various programs
  • Responsible for final checking program bikes are mechanically sound and safe


  • Assessing and scheduling events
  • Assisting with vehicle compliance and maintenance
  • Maintain mobile operations inventory

  • Spanish speaking a plus
  • Working knowledge of non-profits and minimum of one year working as or with volunteers
  • Demonstrated experience delivering programming and educational content
  • Current knowledge of a wide variety of bike types, accessories, tools, etc. is preferred.
  • Minimum of one year formal supervision of staff and/or volunteers
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Extremely outgoing personality that wants to help others have fun with bicycles
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills
  • Ability to learn new computer programs
  • Demonstrated accounting/inventory control experience helpful
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Solid knowledge of basic office operating systems, and ability to learn new systems
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of bike types, accessories, tools, etc
  • Clean driving record required, experience driving a large vehicle a plus.

Physical Effort Required

  • Regular lifting of 50+ pounds
  • Occasionally riding a bike up to 10 miles through varied terrain
