Since 2008, Bikes Together has given out over 1,200 bikes to children who didn’t have one. We understand the positive impact bicycles can have on a child’s life:
- Makes them life-long cyclists
- Empowers children to gain independence using two wheels
- Encourages being active and helps facilitate “family time”
Bike Rodeo: Our Youth Free Bike Program
Bike Rodeo is open to children ages 3-13. In addition to a free bike, participants will also receive a new helmet and lock. While completing the registration forms, you will be required make an appointment for a class where the entire family participates in hands-on learning. The class is 90 minutes long and focuses on bike safety and maintenance. After the class, our volunteers make sure the bike picked out for your child fits correctly. (Note: The bike picked out is based on the information parents or guardians provide during sign-up).
This program is open to any low-income families, with children 3-13 years of age, regardless of gender or experience with bikes. We want children riding bikes! Any scholarshiped Bike Camp participant may also receive a bike through our bike rodeo program.
As a part of the rodeo program, participants will be allowed to trade up their bicycle as they grow until they are 13 years old. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org prior to coming in, to schedule a “trade up” appointment.
